Climber to 2 m. Underground parts unknown. Indumentum present on all parts, most dense on inflorescences and young shoots, hairs simple, 0.3–2.5 mm long. Stems (upper) 1–1.5 mm in diam., twining to the left, annual, unarmed, terete, basal stems not seen. Leaves simple, alternate, blades ovate to broadly ovate, 7–9-veined, chartaceous, margins entire, base cordate, apex acuminate; petioles 1.3–5 cm long; cataphylls, bulbils and lateral nodal organs absent. Inflorescences pendant, tepals inserted on saucer-shaped torus, fused at base, spreading; male inflorescences simple, 1–2 per axil, racemose with a cymule of 2– 3 flowers at each node, peduncles 0.5–2.1 cm long, axes 5–12.5 cm long; female inflorescences spicate, simple, 1–2 per axil. Male flowers 2.2–3.5 mm in diam. at anthesis, pedicels 0.4–0.7 mm long, outer tepals 1.9–2.4 by 0.7–1.1 mm, narrowly elliptic to lanceolate, inner tepals 1.9–2.2 by 0.9–1.2 mm, stamens 6. Capsules 16–25 by 11–16 mm. Seeds 4–4.5 by 3.5–4 mm, lenticular-ovoid, wing 8–12 by 6–7 mm, oblong, extending from seed apex.
