Climber to 5 m. Tubers 1–2, 7–20 by 1–2 cm, cylindric to clavate, vertically oriented, possessing a dark epidermis bearing dense roots, appearing to be branched, annually replaced, subtended by a small woody crown. Indumentum present on all parts except inner whorl tepals, hairs simple, 0.05–0.4 mm long, dense and crisped on inflorescences, lax on stems and leaves, probably glabrescent. Stems 0.7–2.2 mm in diam., twining to the left, annual, terete, base not seen, unarmed on upper stem. Leaves 3-foliolate, sometimes simple on reproductive shoots, alternate, blades chartaceous, leaflets with a single main vein, prominent below, secondary veins emerging laterally from main vein, not anastomosing, leaflet apices acuminate; terminal leaflet blades narrowly ovate to narrowly obovate or oblanceolate, base acute to cuneate; lateral leaflet blades ovate to broadly ovate; petioles 1.8–4 cm long, petiolules 1.5–3.2 mm long; cataphylls not seen; bulbils and lateral nodal organs absent. Inflorescences pendent, tepals inserted on a discoid-gibbous torus, free, erect; male inflorescences racemose, compound, 1 per axil, partial inflorescences 1–2 per axil, peduncles 0.3–0.8 cm long, axes 2.2–3.1 cm long; female inflorescences not seen. Male flowers on 0.2–1.3 mm long pedicels, buds apically flat to rounded, not conical, outer tepals 1.0–1.3 by 0.3– 0.5 mm, oblong, inner tepals 0.7–1 by 0.3–0.5 mm, oblong-spathulate, stamens 3, staminodes 3. Female flowers not seen. Capsules 18–23 by 12–14 mm. Seeds 4.0–5.2 by 3.5–4.5 mm, ovoid-lenticular, wings 8–11 by 4–6 mm, extending from seed bases, oblong.
