Climber to 3 m. Tubers incompletely known, probably annually replaced, slender, possibly spreading, cylindric, with clavate thickened apices (c. 3.5 by 0.25 cm piece present on type), crown small, ovoid. Indumentum present on all parts except tepals, dense on leaf blades, petioles and inflorescences, hairs simple, 0.2–0.9 mm long. Stems 0.7–2 mm in diam., twining to the left, annual, terete, unarmed. Leaves simple, alternate, margins entire to deeply 3-lobed, blade ovate to broadly so or ovate-deltoid, chartaceous, 3- veined, base rounded to shallowly cordate, apex acuminate (acute to obtuse in deeply lobed leaves); petioles 0.7–3 mm long; cataphylls 1.5–2 by 0.6–0.8 mm, narrowly ovate to lanceolate; bulbils and lateral nodal organs absent. Inflorescences spicate, pendent, tepals inserted on discoid torus, free; male inflorescences compound, 1– 2 per axil, partial inflorescences 1–2 per axil, peduncles 2–8 mm long, axes 0.5–2.2 cm long, flowers dense towards apex; female inflorescences simple, 1–2 per axil. Male flowers with outer tepals 0.9–1.4 by 0.4–0.6 mm, narrowly obovate, inner tepals 0.8–1.2 by 0.3–0.6 mm, narrowly obovate, stamens 3, staminodes 3. Capsules (immature) 15–17 by 8–10.5 mm. Seeds (immature) 2.5–3.2 by 2–2.5 mm, lenticular-ovoid with a small apical projection; wing 6.5– 7.5 by 4–5 mm, extending from seed base, oblong.
